More Then A DJ.........Interview #2

The homie DJ Stepone came through for a interview.

1. Sum up the cleveland Browns season

Let's hope next season is better. Honestly we need this draft to be spectacular similar to the early 90's cowboys draft when they came off a 1-15 season but that's just wishful thinking.

2.you think lebron stays or goes this year

I think lebron stays, he has way too much power and control here. Lebron can literally do whatever he wants here see braylon edwards

3.colts and saints are both undefeated , good or bad for the league?

The league wishes that would happen. They would also wish that both teams met in the superbowl and that would be the nfl's dream. It would be billed as the greatest superbowl of all time before the teams even play

4. National championship who u got Texas or Alabama and why.

Alabama because of mark imgram and they beat florida who thought wouldn't lose.

Josh Cribbs......The heart of a lion

Josh Cribbs is the best player on the Cleveland Browns and deserves to be paid. The passion and his heart are key factors in his game. The abilty to return kicks have not been seen since the days of Eric Metcalf. Josh is a true professional and if the Browns could find more players like him they will be in good shape. My message to Al Lerner......PAY THE MAN

Tiger Woods......One Swing Away

Tiger woods - Can he be this good after what has happen in his life over the last 2 weeks?........

Allen Iverson is back!

What a great player. My man cried during the press conference after Philly resigned him. This joint brought me to tears....lol....At some point a man has to be a man and this is Iverson moment.....

LeBron-Wade-Kobe = NBA

The face of the NBA belongs to Kobe Bryant right now. No player since MJ has had a strangle hold on the NBA as Kobe does. 4-time NBA champion and a sure fetch hall of famer, he has nothing else to prove besides the face hat he loves the game and wants to win more. When Kobe hangs his sneakers up who will take his place as "the face"? Bron and Wade are side by side and making a move for the top spot. Some say its what they do individualy, some say its how they effect thier team. what LBJ has done in his 6 years stat wise can not be touched by any other player to ever play in the NBA. His skills are scary and his passion for the game is strong. Turning the lowly Cavs into a winner can not go without praise. Wade is a dog! Already has a ring to his name and his style of play is awesome. No one is as fearless as he is in attacking the basket. His defense and on the ball D has gotten better like day and night. Bron and Wade are the future, but Melo is waiting in the wings to join them in the race for the face...............

Braylon Edwards - Good trade or Not....................

The Cleveland Browns traded Braylon Edwards to the New York Jets a few weeks ago and Cleveland sports fans have been split on rather it was a good trade for the Browns or not. So i brought in Dennis Stanfield to take the side of Braylond and Dave Moore to take the side of the Browns

Dave - Browns side

The Browns may have made the best move they could possibly make this season by dropping the locker room cancer known as Braylon Edwards. Braylon, from the beginning, came to the Browns with his mouth showing more effort that he actually shows on the field. Sure he gave us one Pro Bowl year, but for a first round pick whom you pay top dollar, his production was lacking. His 30 drops since 2007 were tied with Brandon Marshall for tops in the league over that span. It seems as if Braylon was either afraid to take a big hit or was more preoccupied with his modeling career and peddling 5-Hour Energy drinks than football. So now he’s in the big city, New York , where he can be as Hollywood as he sees fit. But I hope he understands that New York football fans are more fickle than us Clevelanders. Drop one ball, and they will throw you under the bus. It is also a great move for the Browns seeing as how Braylon is in a contract year and clearing was not going to resign with the Browns at the end of the season. The additions of Stuckey and Trunski will help fill some roster needs now and the two draft picks will help build for the future. So I say kudos to the Browns for making a wise decision.

Dennis - Braylons side

Did Braylon deserve to be traded? No. Everyone wants to bring up production. Well where is the Browns offense? Different coaches and coordinators over the last few years and let's not mention the inconsistent QB play. The year the Browns won, the QB and WR were on the same page. DA was playing well and Kellen Winslow also helped. And we're bringing up drops? Edwards put the ball on the ground then but he caught TDs. Not comparing Edwards talent to TO, but follow.. TO lead the league in TDs and drops a few years ago and he's still considered one the best ever. All because he made plays. Edwards is still a young player. He puts the ball on the ground more than people would like, but he is a play maker. His last game w/ Cleveland he was thrown to 4 times and dropped one. But the QB couldn't throw a fade to Braylon in the endzone; taking away his height advantage and giving Braylon a chance to make a play. And he's your #1 receiver?

Edwards problems in Cleveland go beyond the field. Similar to what happened to Kellen Winslow last year, there is a wall between management and players. Its hard to build a winner when the owner doesn't seem to care. Colin Cowherd on espn radio XM 140 made a good point about Braylon. He compared him to Randy Moss in Oakland. It got to a point where he didn't wanna be there and his on the field production suffered. He then went to class organization and one that cared. He bought into the system and was held accountable and turned it around. We still have to wait and see, but that's the path Braylon Edwards is headed on.

So leave your comments and take a side.......

Interview #1

This is my First interview with the awesome Sheri Rocks!!!!

1. How long have you been a Cleveland sports fan?

I have been a Cleveland sports fan as long as i remember.....soon as i moved to cleveland when i was 5 (1990) i was exposed to the Browns...my dad was a highschool football star and my mom was a football cheerleader so i had no choice!

2.What's your worst memory as a cleveland sports fan?

So many bad memories in Cleveland sports..we are the land of let downs when it comes to the sports world...but besides the obvious (game winning shot in 1993, by MJ himself), its a tie between when browns went to Baltimore in 96, the Rockers leaving( i always wanted to play in the WNBA), and The Cavs 2009 playoffs....we all know what happened

3.How do you feel about the Stallworth situation?

Im indifferent on the Stallworth situation...athletes get off easy in everything....politics as usual..the end lol

4.Who wins a championship game 1st? Browns,Indians or Cavs?

I def think the Cavs have the better chance to a championship first, lets see if Shaq and Lebron have the same chemistry as Shaq and Kobe..

5. your best memory as a cleveland sports fan

Im gonna give you my best memories because there's more than just one.1. would have to be going to cavs an rockers games as a child, and even though the arena was empty the atmosphere was still amazing...2. being able to know and love Eddie Johnson, who was a close friend to the family, he always hooked us up with browns tickets, the old Browns (the Browns i fell in love with)at the old stadium....3.Lastly...LEBRON JAMES! I remember we had to see him play my highschool at the arena and sold it out...a high school basket ball game selling out arenas...amazing

Tiger taken down by Yang???

91st PGA Championship recap, By Dennis M. Stanfield

We're down the stretch of a Major Championship. Tiger Woods is in the final group... What else is new? But the end result would be new. Or at least not seen in a long long time. It seemed, at the 91st PGA Championship, Tiger was the one affected by "the Tiger factor."Y.E. Yang played the role of Tiger on Sunday, August 16, 2009. Hanging around and in the clutch making a move. Then in the most pressure packed moment, the 72nd hole of a Major, Yang closes it out with a birdie. Tiger won the previous 2 tournaments and was playing well. It showed the 1st two days. Woods separated him self from the field shooting a combined 7 under par Thursday and Friday. The weekend was a different story. Saturday, the wind made conditions tough. Players were loosing strokes by the hole, but Tiger managed to stay on top. Even though Woods played Saturday like a Sunday he managed to make a birdie on the 14th hole to finish -1 on the day and 8 under for the tourney. By Saturday evening, the groups were set. Many were looking for a Woods v Harrington 2, but Paddy faltered and Y.E. Yang took advantage to get in the final group. The 37-year-old Yang admitted he was nervous and couldn't sleep the night before, but was excited for the opportunity. Tiger didn't look like Tiger from the start and Yang was just hanging around. The back 9 was where the noise was made. Tiger lost strokes and ended up losing the lead to Yang. On the 12th hole Yang blasted out of the sand and saved par while Tiger missed another putt and made bogey. Tiger later said, "I made absolutely nothing." Both players pared the par 3 13th and the short par 4 14th was next. While Tiger had a birdie putt, Yang was on the fringe chipping for eagle. The unlikely happen and Yang chipped in for a 2. About the chip in Yang said, "I tried to chip it, just to get it as close as possible, but somehow, fortunately, actually it went in." Tiger was now down 2 stokes, but he calmly regrouped and made his birdie putt to stay one down. The players came to the par 3 17th looking to gain an advantage, but both players made bogey and Tiger missed another putt. Both players tee shots were in the fairway on 18 but Yang would play first. Woods was on the right side of the fairway with a great look at the green. Yang was on the left and had a cluster of trees in his path. Tournament on the line and nerves of steel, Yang pulled out a 3-hybrid. His shot skied over the trees and landed as soft as a wedge, 8 feet from the hole. Bang! Now there was a little pressure on Tiger (even though later he said this was "fun"). Tiger was looking to bring out his old magic. His shot was right on line towards the flag, but was too long and ended in the rough leaving a tough chip. Everyone could feel it. Tiger was going to lose. And to make sure, Yang knocked in his 8 footer for birdie, while Tiger made another bogey. Tiger finished +3 on Sunday and it stopped his streak of Major wins. He was 14 of 14 when he had the lead in the final round. After when asked if he lost it or Yang won it. Woods responded, "Its both." Woods didn't make the putts when he needed and Yang took advantage with an eagle and birdie. "And Y.E. played great all day... And it was a fun battle. Unfortunately, I just didn't make the putts when I needed to make them." Woods said.Tiger hasn't always played perfect but found ways to win and players have folded in his presence. But finally someone, Yang, took this one and didn't fold. Taking nothing from Yang, let's put this in prospective. Tiger came off of major knee surgery early in the year and that meant swing change. He won 5 tournaments, each tourney before a major but couldn't grab a major. Regularly this would be an average year, but coming off of knee surgery made this a up and down year, but a good year. In no means does this mean Tiger Woods reign on top is over. Tiger is only 33 and just reaching the prime of his career. He's tasted defeat for the first time in a long time. Watch out...Dennis M. Stanfield

Vick flying high!

Mike Vick is back! The Philadelphia Eagles have taken the risk and reward and signed him to a 2 year contract. When i first heard the news i was in shock! I'm thinking the Eagles already have McNabb so there isn't a need for a QB. But as i broke it down further the Eagles have a great front office and a great owner who goes out and takes chances on players. T.O was a risk but Vick is a even bigger risk. But to me the gamble was easy, Vick is a talent like none other. The combination of speed, power and a cannon for a arm, you knew he would get a second chance to play. One of only two QB's to run for 1000 and pass for 2000 in a season, Vick also knows he has along way to getting his name back. What he did was wrong and some people will never forgive him. after doing 18 months in prison you can do alot of soul searching with in yourself. Tony Dungy is a well respected man around the NFL and his thoughts on Vick are what most people are saying. He did his time now let him play. For me its that simple, i was and still am a huge Vick fan. But for me to expect him to come back and be the player that he was before right away would not be fair at all. Some say the Eagles are just going to use him as QB. you better believe Andy Reid has a package in place that will scare any defense. Two years from now we might be sitting here and Vick is a starting QB again in the NFL. I hope Vick is sorry for the crimes he commited and that he rises back to where he was befor. Picture this, McNabb,Vick,Westbrook and Jackson on the field at the same time...........

Guess who's back!

I've been gone for a while but I'm back like Jordan the second time lol.....i have a few interviews set up to bring to you guys as well as more regular updates of all sporting events but mainly local. also stepping into the high school sports as well. there will b a few updates today so please check it out and leave feedback

Cleveland "we wont spend money" Indians

These guys you see in the picture on the right and left of this blog are Victor Martinez and Grady Sizemore. Starting Center fielder and Catcher for your very own Cleveland Indians. Grady is a 2-time all-star and consider to be one of the best outfielders in the game. Victor is a 2-time all-star and is also considered to be one of the top cathers in the MLB. But you wouldnt know it with the Indians record of 31-48. Another tough season of Baseball. Grady is part of a few bright spots of the 2009 Indians. his Avg is 223 with 10hr and 39rbi's. For most people thats a great year for him it is just the start. Victor is batting 313 with 14hr and 56rbi's. So as i sit here and look at two legit players and the fact that the team is sturggling all together, i ask you this, how long befor Larry Dolan trades this guys in order to prevent from paying them the big bucks? If you look at past examples in front of you Cleveland heres jus a few names to consider. Manny, Thome, Alomar, Lorton, Belle,C.C and Phillips to just name a few. The Indians had a dominant team in the 90's with divison titles and making a run at 2 world series. We have went from 90 win seasons to barely winning 80. And the issuse is simple. TALENT.... you cant win without talent and the Indians have had alot of it at times. But you have to keep things in line. Sign your own players and build around them. not the other way around (Delucci, mcmicheals) Im a die heart Cleveland fan, if it has Cleveland in friont of it im down. But build me something i can be happy to support and spend my money on. Until then ill stay home and watch the indians choke in the 9th inning from home. Bye bye Grady and Victor, its been fun watching you guys play the last couple of years........

I was asked today how i would rate the cavs season this year and i told him i really couldnt do that because any year you dnt win the championship is another off season of questions and trade rumors. The Cavs where 66-16 this year and gave the city of Cleveland a run it hasent seen since the Indians teams of the 90's. With a early loss to Orlando under there belt i still think the cavs are 1 or 2 solid players away from being considered a real championship team. I cant blame one person but as the head coach Mike Brown has to bear this one. Defense is the cavs calling bottom line and you give 104ppg and in a game 6 your team comes out flat and with no will to win? For 4 years now we have watched LeBron James dribble the ball at the top of the key and take shot after shot, good or bad. Is it time for a coaching change? no! But Mike needs to get tougher and realize its his job to make the moves to put his team in position to win. With that being said, i know he cant knock down the open shot or make the pass to the open guy, that falls on the hands of the players. Mo, Delonte,Daniel and the rest of them. Shaq to Cleveland? I wouldn't mind it but we also need to get younger players and wingman that can not only play defense but also score the ball. This was a good season. The team was excellent at home and proved they will be around for awhile. The biggest question is will LeBron resign in 2010? That's another blog topic........

Number 24 gets ring number 4

Say what you want about Kobe Bryant but the guys is a winner. Every since Shaq won his ring with Mr.Wade and the Miami heat, the heat (no fun intended) has turned up on Kobe to prove he could win without the big man in the middle. Fair or not he had to do it, and he did. By defeating the Orlando Magic 4-1 in the 2009 finals he got his 4th ring while coach Phil Jackson got his 10th! me personally, i am not a Kobe fan at all. But one thing you cant ignore is greatness! for the last 10 years Kobe has been the best player on the planet. Winning gold medals to dropping 81 on the raptors. This LA team from top to bottom was the best roster in the league. Kobe may have had the most help on this team then any other team he had in his career. Bynum, Odom and Gasol scare alot of teams! Kobe has 4 rings and if they keep everything in place they could make a run at 1 or 2 more titles. hopefully a man in Cleveland has something to say about that.......

It on now.............

YESSIRR!!!! finally i did it! its time for me to bring my sports mind to the world. i will talk about anything from hockey to golf. from Cleveland to LA. I'm ready to bring my thoughts and opinion to the table and also display my writing skills as well. With that being said, on July 18th i will be dropping a 32 team NFL review! every team, key off seasons moves and all. so overall i hope you like this blog and if you would like notice of updates u can email me at pdjrsportsreview@yahoo.com Lets go!!!!!!!
