Every since Coach Jim Tressle took over as head coach of The Ohio State University he has put in a system to where his players can have success on and off the field. To always own up to your mistakes and move on, to have credibility. Tressle holding back violations from OSU is a major infraction of NCAA rules. Tressle put wins in front of the truth and now he has to pay. Tressle has always done the right thing for the most part. I always wanted Coach to take more risk, to be the bad guy and run the score up. Not take risk off the field that could effect the University forever. Now the blame can be spread in multiple directions from Pryor and Posey to the head offcials at OSU. Pryor was held as the most highly recruited high school player in recent memory. Pryor's talent was undoubtedly speacial, nobody with that size and speed has come to OSU in the last five years. Pryor won a lot of games racking up a 31-4 record. When does respect and countability come in to play? He was held to a higher standard and failed horribly. Tressle and Pryor both let down the fans of OSU in a way that we all will feel from the NCAA in a few months. The violations they broke will effect the program for years to come from Bowl bans to loss of scholorship. You have to ask yourself one question......was it worth it?Wednesday, March 9, 2011

Angry Cavs Fan....112-57

Dear Dan Gilbert,
Hey how you doing man? I'm sure your waking up on this snowy morning in Cleveland wondering how your team just lost by 55 points to the LA Lakers. As a fan of this team for many years I will tell you I have NEVER been this embarrassed to be a Cavs fan. It makes Rickey Davis shot at the wrong rim to get a triple double look like we won the championship. You remember LeQuit? The guy you accused of quitting last year? Is it safe for me to say your following his path by quitting on the city of Cleveland? You have the worst record in the league and not to mention we lost by 55 points !!!!! We have become the laughing stock of the NBA and you have done nothing to change that. Where's the angry letter to the current players now? Where's the fire you showed when LeQuit left town? Or maybe your in Europe with Al Lerner and Larry Dolan watching your franchise lose!!! Those owners allow their teams to lose 100+ and 10+ plus games a year. You promised a championship before Miami wins one, and i ask you with what team? The Cavs couldn't beat a local high school boys team in basketball right now. Ill remember this date January 11, 2011 as the day the Cavs quit and lost by 55. Jamison and Mo Williams are suppose to be the veterans of the team and they look like little school girls out on the court. The Lakers tossed in 3 point shot after 3 point shot, half court shots and even had time to throw a alley-opp off the glass! The most disrespectful thing i have seen in a basketball game in a while! Dan Gilbert you are a hands on owner and a respected owner in this league. As a fan I'm telling you to fix it or your arena will be empty........
Sincerly, A angry Cavs fan

Allen Iverson

The "Answer" as we know him is playing Professional basketball in Turkey this season. Not his first choice of course but it will have to do if he wants to play the game of basketball right now. A multiple time All Star and one of the best players to EVER touch a basketball playing in Turkey? Some say the down fall of A.I, I say fall and rise of a legend. If you know me I'm a huge Allen Iverson fan, from the first time I seen him ball at Georgetown University till his time with Memphis. What made me a fan of him was the way he played the game. So tough and hard nosed and at his size no one has done it better. When I was growing up, everybody was a fan of 1 of 3 people. Kobe Bryant, Tracy McGrady or Vince Carter. Me, (laugh) i went with a guy who most had known of but refused to get behind because of his "ghetto" attitude. Hell the NBA will never admit it but they came up with a dress code because AI would come to a press conference with a du-rag and a fitted and about 5 chains on his neck. I checked out youtube to see how he's been playing and I look at my home team, the Cavs and ask myself one question..........Are these 15 player better then Allen Iverson? NO! The thing that is keeping AI and the NBA from reuniting is his attitude. The unwillingness to accept the back up role. And if you asked me to sit behind Mike Conley I'd be upset as well. Iverson would be a great sixth man for any contending team in te NBA. Im sure his time in Turkey has humbled him to work harder if he wants to get back in the NBA. As long as Ron Artest has a place in the league AI still has a chance..........

Not Your Average DJ!
When i think of sports and music they have a unique bond on society today. So i hit up one on my favriote DJ'S DJ CoreyGrand to bring his sports knowledge to the table......1. The Browns are 3-6 right now. How do you feel about the direction the team is headed?
I feel this is one of the best seasons the Browns have had in a while. They are constantly showing improvement. Its not easy to build a franchise but I will always believe one day, we will be one of the top teams in the NFL. Our defense is getting better and our overall offense is as well. I'm proud of my home team right now.
2. What do you think of the new look Cavs?
I think the Cavs new look is somewhat stellar, but I'm more in favor of the new look because of how our city and team has to carry themselves now. Out with the old, in with the new look, attitude and energy.
3. The Miami Heat , your thoughts?
I feel that the Heat will do a good job this season and make the playoffs, but i feel they are overrated and will not live up to every expectation that is placed in front of them. I don't wish wish any bad energy on them at all though.
4. What's your take on Randy Moss?
I dont't know how to feel about Randy. He's a hell of a player and i wish he could find his niche. His attitude is not the greatest, but his physical attributes and player sense make up for it. i hope to see him in the Hall Of Fame and a ring on his finger one day. I believe he does deserve one if he stays on a constant work basis. I'll be tuned in to see if he will be a asset or liability to the Titans.
5. If all the members of V-Squad played a game of 33 who would win?
I always played basketball when i was younger but liked playing football a little more. DJ StepOne is a football head so not him. I would actually say DJ K-Nyce or Leo because they claim they can hoop pretty well.
You can check DJ CoreyGrand on twitter at @DJCoreyGrand, and remember Potluck is back 11.24.10 @ Fortress Gold Room which is the lower level of Fortress.......

We Are All Witnesses.......
LeBron James is a grown man and he can do what he wants. He's a free agent and free to sign with any team he likes and that's his choice. As you all know LBJ choose to leave the Cavs and bolt to Miami to play with Bosh and Wade. Most of Cleveland is OK with that, but in the fashion LBJ did it in was awful. To go on national tv and embarrass the city of Cleveland by holding a "hey look at me" press conference just showed the huge ego us as fans have created for you. If you follow me on twitter (@patrickjrpoet) I bashed Chris Bosh for showing no character by the way he treated Toronto and I'm holding no punches back with LeBron. LeBron showed no class and no respect! For seven years Cleveland has had you on this throne that I now see you didn't deserve. Your a gut less coward who allowed your ego to take over possibly more then you ever thought. You didn't even have the guts to tell owner Dan Gilbert, who along with everybody else kissed your ass for seven years your decision so that the Cavs could move on just showed another sign of your immaturity. You left us all in the dark to watch a tv special of a decision you made weeks ago! All the meetings you held downtown last week was a JOKE!. in reality Cavs NO SHOT! Knicks NO SHOT! Nets NO SHOT! Bulls NO SHOT! Clippers NO SHOT! it was South Beach from day one. From you wearing a Yankees hat to a Indians playoff game to you showing up to a Browns game with a Cowboys hat, we all looked over that and it comes to light that it was the sign of a male diva. For the last month you held the city of Cleveland hostage as you knew from day one what you was going to to do. All this Wade to Chicago junk was just part of the master plan. I found it funny that Bosh didn't want to come to Cleveland and play with you, its because all 3 knew Miami was the destination. I'm heart broken, I feel like my heart was ripped out and the cycle continues. You took the easy road instead of building your own legacy, you jumped on Wade's legacy like a baby on his fathers back. Have fun playing second fiddle to the man that will always have "1" more ring then you. MJ and Kobe stuck it out in their respective cities and was rewarded with title after title after title. I'll never forget game five of the eastern conference semifinals sitting in my seat at the "Q" after a 32 point spanking from the Celtics as you literally QUIT on me, the city of Cleveland and your teammates. No doubt you brought the lights of a big city to Cleveland and will never forget it. For me, no matter how many basket you score or if you win any rings I have no respect for you and all the pride I had in being a LeBron James fan was sucked out of me sometime during your 1 hour special. You say you gave yo heart and soul to this city and your blood, but you took that in one night and tossed it in Lake Erie on your way down to South Beach. Many kids in the greater Cleveland area thought u was a hero. Kids everyday would say "I want to be like LeBron". LeBron, your a self proclaimed King and a pre Madonna. Your a quitter and will never be welcomed back in Cleveland again! You lost a lot of fans last night and you'll never get them back, and Cleveland will never forget this night. Im not mad that you left its just how you did it and it was wrong! Your no Art Modell at all he was a snake in the grass, LeBron your a snake in the public eye.......

The King And His Court....

Game 5 has come and gone and id never thought i say this but where the hell are the real Cavs? I attended the game and the crowd was ready for this team to bounce back from its game 4 lost with the energy of first energy, instead we got the bounce back of ball with no air! "King" James laided a egg for the second straight game and I'm sick of it! The last two games in the PLAYOFFS LeBron has played like he didn't deserve to be on the court. No more dunks, flashy lay ups or even a drive and kick. All we got was deep 3 ball after 3 ball. LeBron said this in his post game interview :"I put a lot of pressure on myself to go out and be great and the best player on the court. When I'm not, I feel bad for myself." Hey LeBron how about you feel sorry for the fans you let down the last two games with your horrible play? MVP winners don't play like this in the playoffs, MVP winners don't pass off to Anthony Parker when the team needs a basket. Go out fighting man, fans last night saw the King and his court play with no excitement and no since of pride at all. The Boston Celtics walked in "Q" and by the amount of open shots and easy lay ups they got you would have thought it was still shoot around. Ray Allen coming off screens to nail jump shot after jump shot with no adjustments on defense from fan Mike Brown. Glen Davis and Tony Allen played as if they was the king on the court! Then to top it off Rondo blew past Mo like Chris Johnson in a NFL secondary! Once again Mike Brown is being out coached by another coach who sees the light before Brown does. Your team is getting outplayed and u finally call a timeout when the lead reaches 20. Where is Jamison? Where is Mo? Where is West? Where is LeBron? If the Cavs lose this series it will set the franchise back for years! Now its win or go home! Game 6 there is no tomorrow. Will the cavs play like its a must win now? It all depends on which "king" shows up!

Why the Cleveland Cavaliers just may win the 2009-2010 NBA Title

Being from Cleveland we all want a winner. We have longed for a winner for years. Well not just a winner, but an actual championship. The 2009-2010 Cleveland Cavaliers may just answer the call for all disgruntled Cleveland sports fans. The Cleveland Cavaliers have taken the league by storm this year with the NBA’s best record. There are really three important factors to consider. When you consider these three factors I am gonna list there is absolutely no reason that the Cleveland Cavaliers should not just reach the NBA Finals, but win the whole thing.
The first reason is the CLEVELAND CAVALIERS HAVE LEBRON JAMES!!!!!!!!!! This guy is an ABSOLUTE MANCHILD on the court. Check out this link from nba.com. It is LeBron James’ player page. Just really sit there and analyze his stats and accomplishments. We have never had a player like this in any sport in the city of Cleveland. http://www.nba.com/playerfile/lebron_james/index.html
LeBron is currently averaging 30.0 points per contest while dropping 8.5 assists and pulling down 7.2 rebounds per game. If you know anything about basketball you know that these numbers are absolutely insane! For LeBron’s career he is averaging 27.8 points per game. LeBron is 25 years old and in his seventh year in the NBA. In each season that has passed this guy has gotten substantially better every year. The fact that he has done this every year and not stayed stagnant in terms of his progress is remarkable to say the least. I think LeBron has figured it all out and it will be interesting to see what he does when the Playoffs roll around.
The second reason is because of the vast improvements that Cavaliers have made to their team over the past year. First you have to go back to last year and remember that roster. Ben Wallace, Wally, Sasha Pavlovic, Kinsey, Eric Snow (even though he didn’t play) those players are all no longer with the team. Those players have all been replaced. The Cavaliers have added players like Anthony Parker and Jamario to the team and they have been contributing memebers to the Cavs’ success. In addition to this they added Shaquille O’Neal in the middle via trade and he has been a big help patrolling the paint. Other players have emerged with more prominent roles. Boobie Gibson stepped up huge while Mo Williams was injured, JJ Hickson stepped into a starters roll, Anderson Varejao’s offensive game improved a lot, etc. It’s like the stars are aligning for this franchise.
The third reason is that the Cavs have been playing the best ball in the NBA this year. Their 50-15 record speaks for itself. Experience is the best teacher indeed. They ar still licking their wounds from that epic collapse in the playoffs last year. I’m sure they are willing to do whatever to avoid that this year and make it to the NBA Finals again.
Only time will tell folks…it will be interesting
